Xiveri Mates by Elizabeth Stephens

The Xiveri Mates series by Elizabeth Stephens is a thrilling, steamy, and action-packed sci-fi romance saga that’s impossible to put down. Across the first six books, Stephens weaves a gripping tale of survival, love, and interspecies connection, wrapped in a richly detailed alien universe.

Note, I am only going over books 1-6, This is an ongoing series, I will review the remaining books this summer.

Overview of the Series

The Xiveri Mates books are set in a galaxy where humans have become a commodity, sold and traded by alien species. Each book explores a new heroine’s journey as they are thrust into dangerous situations and unexpected romances with alien beings. If you’re a fan of strong heroines, dominant alien heroes, and high-stakes adventures, this series is for you!

Each story is standalone but interconnected, building on the overarching themes of resilience, love, and the clash (and blending) of cultures. Stephens expertly balances pulse-pounding tension with sizzling romance, making these books a binge-worthy delight.

Books 1-6 Highlights

Taken to Voraxia

Miari is an alien/human hybrid inventor who is identified as a Xiveri Mates for Raku, the king. After multiple misunderstandings and learning from them, we end up with an adorable and loving couple.

Taken to Nobu

You meet Kiki in the first book. Now it's time for her to shine and finally overcome her trauma. Her Xiveri mate makes too many harmful assumptions that he needs to make up for.

Exiled from Nobu (bonus)

This quick bonus novel follows Lisbel, who conspired against Kiki in the previous book. She overcomes her faults and gets her own HEA.

Taken to Sasor

New world, new twists...Our Xiveri mate this time is a shapeshifter! He is also an idiot, but Mian is gentle and understanding.

Taken to Heimo

We finally get to Svera's story! She is the last of the trio from the first book. There is also a major plot twist in the underlying plot that continues through all the books.

Taken to Kor

We meet Deena at the end of the last book. Now we get to witness how her space pirates Xiveri mate wins her love.

Taken to Lemora

Essmira spent her whole life training to be a pleasure slave. When confronted with freedom, she is unsure how to handle it. Her Xiveri mate doesn't help much, he's so awkward it almost hurts, lol.

What Makes the Series Stand Out?

Strong Heroines

Always a priority for me, each heroine is unique, resilient, and relatable. Whether they’re scheming to escape captivity, fighting space pirates, or navigating alien courts, these women never lose their sense of agency, making them easy to root for.

Alpha Alien Heroes

The Xiveri males are powerful, protective, and possessive, but Elizabeth Stephens ensures they’re more than just one-dimensional. Each hero grows and evolves, learning to respect and cherish their human mate. I fell in love with each woman, so I wouldn't settle for anything less than someone respecting and cherishing them.

Stellar Worldbuilding

Stephens creates an expansive galaxy filled with diverse alien species, cultures, and politics. The world feels alive and immersive, with each planet and society meticulously crafted to draw readers deeper into the Xiveri universe.

Themes and Takeaways

At its core, the Xiveri Mates series is about finding love and connection in the most unexpected places. It explores themes like survival, trust, healing, and the ways people from vastly different worlds can come together to create something beautiful.

The series also doesn’t shy away from darker themes, such as captivity, rape, and loss, but it balances them with hope, resilience, and the power of love to heal even the deepest wounds.

Elizabeth Stephens’ Xiveri Mates series is a must-read for fans of sci-fi romance. If you love dominant alien heroes, fierce heroines, and steamy, emotional romances set against a backdrop of danger and adventure, this series is for you. Books 1-6 are a wild, heart-pounding ride through the stars, and I can’t wait to see where Stephens takes us next!

I Accidently Summoned a Demon Boyfriend

Who else is celebrating National Single Awareness Day this Saturday? Well, Rayna had the bright idea one Saturday night after her friends stood her up for their boyfriends to conjure up her own hottie. So, she gathered up her lavender-scented candle, jasmine oil, sandalwood oil, and patchouli oil. She then applied the oils under moonlight and did her incantation. It was just a lonely, drunk woman whim...oops! Next thing she knows there is a horned purple demon in her room! They share an unbelievable (literally, she thought it was all a dream) night together. Come morning she sends him on his way so she can return to her boring life. Unfortunately, the universe had other plans.  I loved the rom com feel of the story. I don't encounter that a lot in sci-fi romance and romantasy. The female lead is also a black woman, and I love seeing the diversity. I don't know if it's just me, but I don't find a lot of black female characters in sci-fi and fantasy romances. It's act...
